Upgrading the fuel tank on std Revo

hi all,

I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade that std fuel tank on a stock Revo. I'm not looking for anything inparticular, other than longer running times between refueling. My Revo is totally stock, so it still has both steering servos and the opti-drive in place. I do not really want to have to remove any of those items.

Cheers all

:)

Thanks for that :)

My only concern is that there is no mention of relocating the opti-drive unit. Do you know if it still fits? I'm guessing not.

The link he has posted is intended to be for when you have removed the opti-drive and gone FOC, even though they state that you don't have to, it is highly recommended. I have no idea where you would put the opti-drive with that in place.

I have seen a couple of pics on various forums of guys who have put other thanks in the standard position. I have no idea what tanks they were or what they had to change to enable them to do that, unfortunately.

optidrive is for reverse and thats it!
you are strongly recommended to remove the optidrive
and go with the tekno mod receiver box and 250 cc tank!
as soon as you cut the optidrive the revo only gets better!

And it is failsafe. Not just for reverse. So make sure that if you take it out, then you put a failsafe in it's place.

Thanks all

Well, as my gearbox had recently gone belly up I've just been sent some replacement parts by my LHS. I'm giving the reverse/opti-drive one last chance, next time it goes i'm going FOC, I'll even get the kit ordered so I have it ready.

At that point, I'll also look to change the receiver box and get the bigger tank.

As my Revo is a 2.5R, my opti-drive doesn't include a fail safe, so I have one strapped to the side of the existing receiver box - perhaps I'll be able to do a neater job with the Tekno kit and fit the fail safe in the new box!?

Cheer all :)

Good luck with that. I also thought I really needed the reverse and it is great in certain situations, especially when bashing. Since changing to FOC, I have ended up changing my driving style a little to suit and out of the numerous bash sessions, I think I have only really wanted/needed reverse on a couple of occasions. You'll be amazed how much weight it saves too. Another bonus.

Oh and forgot to mention that my issues with sometimes having no throttle have also gone, obviously the opti-drive was trying to do it's thing and I ended up with no throttle on numerous occasions for a few seconds.
