Pipe cleaning
I have not read anywhere about cleaning the internals of your exaust pipe but I am going to clean mine tonight. As rich as these things run I would imagine it is pretty nasty. I'm sure after a couple gallons there would be a lot of added restriction. Any comments? I guess I will use brake cleaner for the job. Any suggestions?

RE: Pipe cleaning
Hmmm you mean a colonic? You might get a colonoscopy before you do just to check the health and condition and see if there are any polyps attached to the insides. If there are no polyps, then I would forgo the colon blow.
I think brake fluid might cause more problems though.[X(] couldn't resist sorry |
RE: Pipe cleaning

RE: Pipe cleaning
Fill an old crock pot about half full of anti-freeze. Turn it on low and let it cook for a day or 2. works great!
Don't use the wifes good one! |
RE: Pipe cleaning
I just wash the crap out with warm water.. The crud in there becomes very hot with operation, and loosens easily, so usually stuff doesnt get stuck in the pipe. The only thing left usually in a pipe is the excess oil..

RE: Pipe cleaning
Unleaded is perfect, remove exhaust from truck, dah, flush out, not much ends up in there a bit of dust/oil build up, bit a black gunky stuff after 5 years or so, LOL, but fuel cleans it straight out, only ever done it once, when a stupid curry eating wasp built a nest in one and blocked it ! Yea boy was he sorry ! Air compressor, and fuel !

RE: Pipe cleaning
caustic soda is the best stuff to use, what ive used on my 2 stroke bike exhausts. although saying that it depends what type of exhaust you have, if its aluminium then dont use it, anything else is fine
