Traxxas t-maxx REVvED, RADIO CHOICES??
 

I have had this truck for a while came with a 2.5 and i had problems from the start, even local hobby shop said it was a pain. Now i put a 3.3 in it. Have not even broken 3.3 in yet, i started it and radio like shorted and revved at full throttle, the new motor for bout 13 seconds i got it shut off. there was alot of blue smoke, so i figured it was rich but i am done with the torque radio. I am sure the radio died i tried bout everything new batts and so on. Any Suggestions on Radios That will be work alot better with no problems, prefer under $200. Also will the motor have Damage from that rev up?

oddly enough, the same thing happened to me when i was breaking in my os 18tm. my radio shorted out. this is the radio i got. GREAT DEAL! its synthesized and it is loaded with features.

and as for your engine. the same thing happened to me with my stock trx 2.5. it was WOT for like 5-8 seconds. it seemed fine after so your engine should be fine.

You can get this radio Airtronics MX-3, i have two and have had no issues, its advanced but still very easy to use!! Not as popular as the futaba and other but you will be amazed at how well it works!!

Just get any FM set up, transmitter and reciever, all ya servo's will plug into em just like an AM set, only you have f#@^&% all problems with em !

Another good way to go is Spektrum. It depends on whether or not have the foc or not. If u do, then the dx 2.0 would be a good way to go, but if u still have reverse, then the dx 3.0 would be the good way to go....Just my observations here....
