steel spur

I have a e-maxx with a single novak hv 6.5 motor and the rrp slipper and the plastic spur gear. I have stripped out about 7 gears so far. i think it would be a good idea to buy a steel gear. is that a good thing to do?

might seem like an odd question, but do you have your mesh and slipper set right?

i figured you did, just thought I might start with the most obvious. is the engine squared up to the tranny?

sorry it is electric, should have said motor
I know on my Nitro Maxx trucks that when I spin the spur around on the CB that there is always a spot where it is a little tighter than the rest du to the spring on the slipper. I always set my mesh up at that spot to where I can just barely feel movement between the two and have always had good luck with that

In my honest opinion you should figure out why you are going threw spurs so quick. Is it because you are overpowered? Is something not set up right? What exactly is going on. If you do go with a steel spur than that would solve the spur problem for sure. However that may cause problems else where making something else the weaker link. Does that make sense?

i have mostly every upgrade you could get for the drive train. (3.3 diffs steel axles, steel tranny gears) i dont think that it is over powered. its only a 6.5 with 12 cells
