Default 92in Cessna 310 ARF available

I just came across that nitro planes has the 92in wingspan Cessna 310 ARF in stock for $249.95. Sounds like a great deal. I'm sure the typical cheap arf reinforcements would need to be done, and the scale outline isn't all that great but for the money I don't think you can really go wrong. The last thing I need is another plane but at this price I may have to pick it up. Anyone else thinking of ordering one?

Good Looking ? It looks like a cross between a C310 and one of the Spy vs. Spy characters from Mad magazine.

I don't know, maybe a nose job and do something with that windshield and it might look pretty good. Oh, those tip tanks need replacing.

I'm not saying that it can't be dolled up. I think it probably can be. Its just a little disappointing that it needs dolling up. And I wish the paint scheme was a little more sophisticated like Kmots pic. IF it looked like this , then you are darn right I would have ordered one.

Their supposed to have been releasing a B-25 also. Now that actual model (b-25) was shown at this years Top Gun, yet still no news on their website about it. I'm sure we're looking at least a year before the Top-Flite 310 is available. Heck for $249 the nitro planes could possibly be a good platform to test out engines radio equipment before putting it in the Top Flite. Only bad thing is I don't think anyone even has a clue about the SIZE of the possible Top Flite 310.

KMOT:

Only thing available (Early Dec.) are the robart retracts for it..here is Towers info on the 310
Tower Hobbies #: TFCESSNA310, available Early December
Retracts: LNPC47, $349.99 By Robart

Go to towers web site and see if you can come up with anything, by using the info that I provided

Good Luck

That's a pretty big clue! Tower did the same when the Staggerwing was a rumor. Robart had retracts for it. I guess this seals it then!

You can always strip the covering and disassemble it first. Then you will have your kit. [sm=lol.gif]

I got my NitroPlanes Cessna 310 yesterday. The box says 88" span and the ads say 92".

I haven't measured it but maybe they just measured the wings without the tip tanks.

Don't get your hopes up if you want step-by-step instructions like Top Flite, Great Planes, Hangar 9, etc.

On the 8 whole pages there are some photos of something that may resemble the parts in the kit box, and some cryptic writing that may help a tiny bit.

Just use your common sense and put it together.

Mine will have a pair of Evolution .61's.

The 310 is by Evergreen models. I have 2 of their planes that I am flying, .60 P-51 and a >40 Ultimate bipe. Both fly very well. The 310 is on my get list.

Interesting. The Cessna 310 is "...by Evergreen Models..."?

Maybe Evergreen Models simply ordered up a bunch of these ARFs and slapped their company name on it, same as NitroPlanes, RaidenTech and all the others that seem to offer very similar kits with different brand names.

Oh yes, I forgot to add CMP to the distributor mix.

Or maybe, Evergreen Models manufacturs them and the rest distribute them.

If you do a little snooping, you may find that Evergreen Models is just another distributor of "no-name manufacturer" planes, just like all the rest.

I too have one of the new 310's I am wondering since the weight of the 310 is simular to the Dual Ace and that I fly with a pair of 52 two strokes, if they (52"s) would fly the 310? I have a pair of 91 four strokes that I laid up in the nacels , which seems that it would be over-kill. My third chouce would be to stuff in a pair of 61 two strokes and fly the heck out of it. I own a full scale 310 Q nand I dont consider the Nitro 310 a scale plane just a fun-lookin 310 twin with ooooooh factor. Besides its a bunch easier than building a Nosen 310
