Does anyone have any parts for the 310? I need both nacelles and the left wing tip...lost an engine on a touch and go and went into the runway pretty hard. Thanks

Beautiful Cessna Bruno !!

How about some particulars; what type/brand of paint ?

Did you strip off all of the original paint or did you seal the original before painting ? When repainting any RC plane I've always had problems with paint compatability.

What Cessna did you scale your's after ?

Bruno,

I usually don’t post just to comment on someone else’s post unless I have something to add but… I will make an exception this time. Your aircraft is beautiful and you have some great detail.

Very nice, thank you for sharing.

bruno,
That is one sweet paint job you did on your Cessna 310!!! Good luck on your maiden flight. I have slow down on the build of my Cessna 310 because of all the good flying weather we are having here in the Great Northwest!!! So far the main gears doors are in, but, the nose gear door is a big pain in the "A"!!! Top Flite hit a home run with this bird and I can not wait to see if it fly like the full scale plane.
Good luck again on your maiden flight, bruno!!!

Beautiful paint job.

On another subject...i will maiden my 310 soon with os 46ax engines. Plane is bone stock. I will very much appreciate any observations on this power combo. I know it will not fly on the engines but on the wing. Will fly from a rather short paved runway and do not want to use flaps on maiden.

Thanks....bo

My Robarts are up at Down and Locked for conversion. I just received this note.
"You will probably want to purchase a different nose wheel, the width of 1.000 is to wide and drags the mounting bracket the diameter of 2.750 is fine."

I would really appreciate it if someone who has the Down and Locked conversion would share the manufacturer and part number of the high quality nose wheel that will work. I changed the main wheels to Sullivan 3.5 inch. Apparently they work, but it sounds like I got the wrong nose wheel.

Thanks!

So far my Down & Locked conversion is working great.

After reading this thread, I noticed a number of fellahs had experienced broken wheels if using the supplied wheels/tires. Then I picked up a set of 3 Robarts scale wheels. The mains are 3.5" and the nose is 2.75". Sorry, but I don't have the part numbers.

Go back to page 133, my post number 3306. I used a very simple way of keeping all of the slack from those nasty steering cables.

On another note, my fear factor is high with this Cessna as I never thought I'd drop a total of $2500+ into one of my toy airplanes !![X(][X(]

Sailor,

Lex Aire Wheels and muffler extensions were shown on the original product introduction.

http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/a...article_id=870

I couldn’t find the wheels on the internet but this entry in the thread says he knows the owner and might be able to help.

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=8871311

I have had the wheels from the beginning; they are very sturdy and look good.

Hope that helps…

Hi Guys;
I have a question for the guys who went with the spring hinges on the nose gear door. I went with this setup, but, can not come up with the right amount of wire loop that run between the door and the inside of the wheel well. I went with the one big door to cover the opening. I have look at pictures of people who have this setup in this forum, but, when I run the wire between the horn on the gear door and the horn on the side wall of the nose gear wheel well, the door start to close, but stop halfway. Now if I add wire, the nose gear would retract, but the door stay open!!! Any tips???
Thank guys for any info and help!!!

Sorry Sonny......can't help you out with that one. Due to excess weight build-up on mine, I decided not to install the gear doors.

You may need to re-read the thread as I remember seeing a few different gear door ideas.

For those who have built and flown this plane, what was the approx. cost to get it airborne? I see some used different size motors, so in general, say with the OS 46AX. I am trying to get some ideas for my future winter build.  I have always wanted to build one of these(at least I think it was this plane, though it had a 10' wing span), so if it can be in my budget, it may be a good candidate.

....can't do it for much less than $1500 if you go with Robart retracts, the airframe, new 46ax's, and good servos. I have over $2000 in mine but I have BVM brakes and some other goodies.

The 10 footer you saw was probably the Nosen 310....Bo

Hey Guys;
Well, the Cessna 310 is done!!! Now to start to get it ready for the maiden flight. I did go with the nose gear door, but, the main gears was a P"I"A to install, so I pull them. This was a fun build and I would like to thank everyone who post on this thread. Maybe down the road I will install the main gears doors again!!
I will be back later to let everyone know how the maiden went!!

Hi Sonny,

Glad to hear she's done ! Please let us all know about the maiden. Make sure you are flying alone on the maiden as it's easier to determine if you've lost one engine. Ask me how I know about that.

I'm going to fly mine again tomorrow. It's supposed to be a nice VFR day on Thursday about 40 miles north of Detroit ! Mostly sunny, high temps in the mid to high 70's, light winds and low humidity.[8D]
