Back in the day when ARF's weren't available I used to glass the center section of the wing with 12 oz. cloth. Do you think this would be as good as the carbon mat? I would think as you did from nacelle to nacelle will work. [8D]

Hate to age myself but the first plane I built and learned to fly with was a Sterling Fledgling. I was 14 at the time. Been in this hobby for 37 years now. Sometimes I'm amazed in the advances in the technology over the last 10 years, especially electrics.

sounds like we're cut from the same balsa tree. If you wanted to fly you had to build it first. I had a ringmaster too!! TTYL

To be twenty again and know what we do now. Life just wouldn't be the same. maybe there is a reason knowledge comes with age!!

I would love to see a set of plans for this bird and see what type of wood the plans call for. With many people who have flown this plane and have the wing to break on landing, tell me, the wood they are using is sub-standard. I have been in this hobby for over 30 years and have built a ton of Top Flite kits. So I will take my time on this bird, so I don't get a one flight baby. I know other thing can go wrong to end her, but, to come in to land after a beautiful flight, just to have the wings to break on landing is not good!! Speaking of old plane and/or kits, anyone remember the Carl Goldberg Falcon 56??

badazzgti03,
Somewhere in the thread someone did remove the weight in the nose. 30 lbs, that's a beast. The two OS .46 may not be enough power for it. Now I went with 2 Evo .60nx engine in my baby. That's a 60 size engine in a 40 size body. They have tons of power!!! Did not work on the wings this weekend, because the weather for good for flying and I had a blast!!! But now the rain is back, so back in the man cave.[][]

well i recently weighed my 310 just with the fuse and wings on and all servos installed with lights and the battery for the lights and t os 46s came out to be 22-23lbs and thats without retracts, wheels, brakes, receiver, sequencer gear doors, air cylinders and so on and so fourth so i guess with all that probably will add an additional 5 maybe

Hi,
3- Yes, foaming the wing or adding carbon rods (as seen in some previous posts) to strenghten the wings is not useless. Wings seems to be the weak point of this plane.

I am new to the r/c plane hobby world, and this forum. I apologize for previous messages written in "All CAPS," and now understand this is the equivalent to YELLING the message. My mistake, and my apology.
Also, i want to thank the many readers who have responded to my inquiries and have helped me understand different issues while saving a lot of research time. I continue to welcome any input regarding my posts.
Thank you again, and i look forward to your postings. Best regards, Orion4455.
