Small glow twin
I am looking for a small glow twin or a balsa/glass twin for two Saito 40 four strokes that I have. I would really like a small glass F-7f but I cant find any good twins this small. anyone know of any good kits or ARF's out there?

RE: Small glow twin
The only place I could think of with twins for 40s is Wowplanes but those are foam. They are flown with either electric or glo even though most people fly them with electrics. Other than them you will most likely have to do a scratch build.
http://www.wowplanes.com/ Try Unclewillies plans for a bunch of options, Bob Holman and cleveland plans. http://*****************.com/ http://www.clevelandairline.com/ASP/LIST.asp http://www.bhplans.com/ |
RE: Small glow twin
if you can find them the p-82 Mustang works good with two Saito FA-40a engines. At least mine does.
I bought mine from Nitroplanes a couple of years ago. several guys have kit bashed a couple of p51 kits to make a P-82 as well. http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...mustang_04.jpg |

Hobbico Twinstar...I flew mine on 26 4 strokes, but 40's would make it a dream machine.....

RE: Small glow twin
Had OS 40 FP two strokes on one of my Twinstar's, the 40 four strokes will work just fine, mount round cowls on it and make it a tail dragger like Sky King's Cessna Bobcat also know as the BAMBOO BOMBER. The second generation Twinstar has better covering, not that shelve paper crap as on the first versions. World Models makes a P-82, don't know if they still do, had factory retracts in it. Friend of mind had one with K&B Screamin 48's in it, talk about fast... FANTASTIC engines. |

The Cessna 310 Sky King Song Bird is nice. The page says laser kit and plastic parts are available.

RE: Small glow twin
that 310 looks good but do they offer a kit for it or just the plans?

RE: Small glow twin
You can get a laser cut kit for it here. http://www.hobbyhangar.com/newhh2_003.htm
Rich Uravitch has the plastic parts here. http://www.richuravitch.com/rubaseline_002.htm and MAN has the plans. http://www.airagestore.com/sky-king-...-songbird.html |
RE: Small glow twin
looked at the kit and that would be good for OS 15's but the Saito 40's would be way to much. thanks for the help though i may still get that one for 15's. I may kit bash a HOB 20 size mustang in to a P-82.

Air, check out some of Wing Manufacturing short kits. They have a P-38, A-26 and P-82. The short kits come with some wood parts, all the plastic and foam parts for about 100.00. The P-38 would be super cool and leagal for SAMS racing.

Aerocrafts out of New Mexico buils a very nice small twin ARF called the Gemini GT 25.
Originally designed around a 20 or 25 2 cycle engine that are a very neat little twin with amazing quality. I think his web site is currently under construction but you can reach him here on RCU his handle is "jim19", the old e-mail addy I have is not working I can't seem to locate his new e-mail, give him a PM he will get in touch with you. |
RE: Small glow twin
I have a Gemini with Thunder Tiger 36 two strokes, fly's great, very well built. Ordered mine with available options, remote glow installed, aileron extensions installed, motor mounts for MY engines installed and pavement tires as opposed to taller grass field tires, came with tanks installed and plumbed. The only mod I made to mine was to turn around the main landing gear so the wheels are in line with the nacelles, wheels were too far apart and didn't look right. Bringing it in with flaps down requires 1/4 throttle. |
RE: Small glow twin
Very nice lines on that one!
