61 lib' with out fule !!!!!:(:(

man you are way way over the top , this model is 45 lib' top .
your engine is to small for the job .
you must to calculate your wing load .

do some homework before trying to fly it .

best of luck

your not going to have enough motor for that plane . if it does get off the ground its not going to make it in turns unless you flate turn it with rudder. might need to get bigger motors.

RE: scratch built c130

im thinking maybe a cpl 120 or 31cc gas motors myself i would go with gas cheaper to run. plus you can have one of the motors run backwards to counter the torqe. makes twin r/c planes fly so so much better i do all mine that way

Longflyer,

Whats the latest updates on your Herky bird, waiting to see if you changed the motors or flew it with present ones....personally as other suggested i'd go with bigger motors but then it's up to you.

Yes side mounted engines tend to run better and they don't load up also. As for reliability is concerned LA types should be avoided, get yourself FX or AX or nice 4 strokers and you don't have to worry about it much. I had worse of luck with these LA's didn't matter what size there were...

That muffler setup is really clever!

longflyer 10-25-2008 06:29 PM

RE: scratch built c130

the muffler setup changes the sound of the engines greatly.. does not have ring a ding sound as most 2 cycle do.. three engines modifyed so far.. 4 gets it sun......

RE: scratch built c130

bad news everybody... cannot keep the engines from killing the plugs.. so i have decided to remove engine and mount them horz.. major mod so i will not be flying soon.
