RE: Offical Blizzard Thread
Thanks for chiming in. Well, that's good news than, as I may need some help with mine
Was just browsing eBay and considering ordering the bearings for it while I am waiting on the kit. Thinking maybe I should put the bearings in during the build. Is this a big deal or not so much a big deal?

I haven't really used mine, I still have yet to paint the body. I should really get on it this weekend as there is already a couple feet of snow here.

RE: Offical Blizzard Thread
Well, I have not received my Blizzard yet, but I did put together a set of rubber shielded ball bearings today. I got a list of the bearing sizes from a listing on eBay, went to the hobby store and found that Traxxas #5115's are 5x10x4. Anyway, in the end, I found all the rubber shielded bearings I need according to the listing on eBay. Also picked up some paint and window tint paint as well. I think I have everything now to complete the Nitro Blizzard.
When I was in the hobby shop, they had a Traxxas TRX .15 engine in the case there. I could get it for about $60 CDN. Would it be a lot of work to mount this engine you think?
Just thinking it would be a good spare at that cost, but not if it's a **** load of work to mount it.

The motor that comes with the blizzard is a little unqiue, the motor mount is built into the bottom of it, motor bolts direction downward onto the plate, to bolt virtually any other motor you well need a motor mount, and to drill/notch custom holes.
there should be enough room for it, alot of other RC cars are much tighter.
the bell, bearings and clutch should work fine.
i actually liked the stock motors speed, it was not bad, gearing options are virtually non existant anyways, unless you go electric.

Don't worry about the GSX 11 engine on the Blizzard, I have 6 gallons of fuel through mine and it still runs excellent. I just use Omega 15% in the engine that I got from Hobby Alley on 97th St. Check out the price per gallon. http://hobbyalley.com/store/product/...5%25-w-Castor/

RE: Offical Blizzard Thread
I'm not trying to speed it up, nor do I think the engine is bad. Just thought this other engine would be a good replacement "just in case", and was wondering if it's a chore to fit another engine in there is all.

The only thing you will need to change on the GSX 11 is the plug. I've revved this engine real high and it didn't break. It is made just as good as an OS. I have pulled my Son on a skateboard with my Blizz. I have had mine out last winter when it was -42 and the thing worked real well.

if you just want a backup you could probbly find one on ebay eventually, they should go dirt cheap normaly no one wants them when they do go up for sale.
i would be supprised if it cost you more than 40$
food for thought.

Thelane: That actually is the Rear suspension arm, the cab sits over the motor in front,
you want that wheel, for the most part in line with the wheels in front of it, in other words just drop it down about to the ground, as long as its lower your track well not hit that peace, i have never had a problem.
i have a couple of blizzard pics in my gallery, you can see them by clicking on my nick i think.
or go to the pictures page of this website and search blizzard
that should work for you.
