Default Acepow 2s1p 4000mah 30C Hardcase Review

Today I was handed over a pair of Acepow lipo batteries by the owner of Formuladrc.com. These were the 4000mah 30C and 5000mah 40C, both being hardcased 2s1p with bullets. Packaging was good and the power cables were supplied.

Charged the 4000mah 30C battery at 2C. Voltage delivered was at 3.8V. Same for the 5000mah. The cells came in half full. 2000mah went back in. One cell was at 4.2V while the other at 3.92V. The 5000 pack took 2500mah and was more balanced than its 4000mah cousin. 4.2V + 3.98V.

The 4000mah 30C battery went through a 100A burnout test for its first cycle. I used my old school TRC Lynx II pan car. Slapped on some 2ā€ wide drag tires and started the burnout. I must say that Iā€™m more than surprised with the outcome. Data logger showed an average of [email protected] ~ 727Watts for around 20 seconds. This equates to 27C discharge.
Burst startups on carpet(inside my house) peaked at [email protected] ~930W.

More will follow.
