They sound really nice but the way I go through blades I'm afraid to invest in them right now. I think I will get some more practice first. Are you still using the stock motor? I'm still waiting for my replacement head parts to get back in the air.

I got my align feathering shafts in the mail last night. I also got the Align skids. These are black plastic with gray runners. The same color as the align tail booms. It should look pretty nice, considering I am already using the align tail. I cracked my stock skids in my last crash so I figured I'd just get new ones. I hope to have it all back together this morning and take it out for a flight. We'll see, I just hope i didn't miss any broken pieces...

Hi guys, here is my baby. I've got it all back together and flying again. The new skids look great with the tail boom and my painted canopy. It's a blue metallic flake color. It feels good to be airborne again! By the way, thanks Cepeda, the align feathering shafts do indeed work perfect!

I basically just bought a can of model paint at wal-mart and sprayed the inside of the canopy about 5 times. The outside of the canopy is unpainted so the clear plastic makes it look like a thick coat of clearcoat. It was pretty simple. I needed to put painters tape around the edges so I didn't get any spray on the outside while I was doing it, but that was about it.

Well, I'm back to working on my "nose-in" hovering. I think I've found a good way to do it while limiting my chances of crashing. Essentially, I keep the heli about 2-3 inches above the ground (nose facing me) on a fairly large, flat, asphalt area. Of course I put my training gear back on. This way, I can "skid" along the ground if I have to, while working on my orientation. It seems to work pretty well. I was practicing nose-in last week at about 4-5 feet off the ground when I got confused and crashed. With the heli only 2-3 inches off the ground, I can set it down pretty quick (and most importantly, without damage) if I get into trouble. I wish I was as comfortable "nose-in" as I was "tail-in." I like flying NOE (army pilot lingo for Nap OF the Earth) down hills and around trees. Right now i can only make it fly away from me, I would like to be able to bring it back without having to walk behind it.

Hi Soneebee, they are the stock plastic ones. They are slightly longer and have a different shape. They work fantastic. The only problem was that I had to use my dremel and grind a small bit of plastic from around the screw hole. They were too tight in the stock DF37 blade grips and did not move very well, even when the screw was loose.

W37 Cepeda i see you got the walkera 180S brushless motor.. how is it? I have heard a lot of complaints with this motor having its shaft crack and split during use... how is its power? does it have good enough headspeed?

I can't really say about the quality of the motor.
I know for fact the ESC sometimes come defective and
if not treated properly you can burn them out, but the motor.. no idea.

Power.. it has way to much! 5 mintues into my flight, my bellcrack set
flew apart! the ball linkages for the pitch flew apart!, this thing
has so so much power, that when it takes of, it bounces off the ground
up to a 10 foot immediatly! You have to be very very precise
on the remote when applying power. Maybe my bell crank was cracked or
something, but I tell you it was nice seeing the speed of the blades.
I had replacement parts, but today im going to replace the set with
metal ones from ALIGN.

I had to lower collective setting to -60% to make it a bit more dosil.

I have heared that there will be a new head coming out for the 36 which can also be used on teh 37 it is basically the same as the design on the TREX so it will be the bellhiller type. but I am still waiting for more information on this.. if it comes in I will let you guys know.. i think it kinda looks like the one army posted a couple of pages back

Cepeda, nice looking bird! I like your antenna route. I may do that too. Does the align bellcrank fit in perfectly?

Thanks!

I have to wait until wed. The place is closed today.

I will also need the washout plate too, to mount the new bellcranks.

I will let the forum know ASAP.

Someone asked about the 180 Walkera brushless motor.

Well , here's the verdict.. IT SUCKS!

During hover,, white smoke started to come out!

IT fried. The motor is no good.

I'm so pissed with the guy who sold it to me.

SO , if anyone here can recommend a motor kit...

Please advice,

Thanks.

sorry cepeda, helliwanabe and I have had good luck with ours... look back on the thread and you'll see which one we bought. It came from Taiwan with PHENOMENAL shiping times. I think I got mine in 3 days, standard shipping.

Well Today I put out real money.

I got the park flyer by elite 400 Brushless motor 3700 RPM

and the Aling 35A ESC..

I tell you this, Its far superior.. I programmed the ESC to startup nice and slow..

not like " soniebees video were you get a burst of power" which was happening to me

also with the wlakera ESC and brushless motor..and you loose start direction of your copter.

I will give more detail on thie ESC later. It has far more power than before.

I had to change the gear sproket on the motor head, it was tough, but it had to de done.

Concerning the ALign metal bellcrank arms... They can't be adapted with the current head.

I almost have the entire head assembly , so i will go ahead and upgrade the entire thing to

match the Trex450 pro.. I will cost me less then 100 bucks..with the current parts I have already..

When I do. i will show the pics.

Thanks
