Default Walkera 4 or Honeybee FP?

Hi guys

I'm new to RC heli flying (haven't even got a machine yet!) and thought I'd decided on a HoneyBee FP for my first one. This decision was based mainly on the HB being fixed pitch and robust, cheap to repair and with good spares availability. Didn't realise there was another FP out there so now I'm wondering about the Walkera 4. How does it compare to the HB? More robust? Better spares availability? Easier to fly? Please let me know oyur thoughts. Many thanks!

They fly about the same. My opinion is that the HB has better electronics and they're compatible with other radios, etc.

The bigger heli will be easier to fly. The Honeybee Fp is a good one to start with. If you are going to be flying outside, make sure there is very very little to no breeze at all. The HBFP is good for learning hovering and orientation. From my experience, I dont think the HBFP is a good machine for fast flying (Save that for a CP machine) I also fly the Walkera 4#3 which is very wind sensitive, I have flown it outside with no wind but if there is any wind, trouble.

Thanks guys. Think I'll stick to my original decision of the HoneyBee, then. Cheers for now!

By the way, Gary, I have noticed you're connected to "Super-Skids". I live in Aberdeen, Scotland, UK and have been recommended by many to get some Super Skids as an upgrade for my HoneyBee FP when it arrives on Christmas day. Would you know a UK stockist where I can order some online? Feel free to PM me. Thanks for your time.

I think the walkera 4g1b at least deserves a consideration. Its a big improvement over the 4#1.

Slap a set of Gary's Superskids & tail upgrades on an HB FP & it looks something like this:
