Default Walkera 4#6 first impression

Another good day in office. We got the sample 4#6 today. A quick look very similar to the 4G6. The main frame is identical to the 4G6 mean you can upgrade to the 4G6 electronic and rotor later if desire. The 4in1 gyro have a switch like larger gyro you can switch between normal and HH mode, and gain, extend adjustment too. One new thing is this helicopter came with new 600mah 1S lipo. The battery is slight bigger than the 500mah battery 15.2g vs. 13.6g. And will fit the older cb100 and 4#3b without any issue. The rotor head use the same aluminum alloy as other walkera heli but is orange this time. The design is very similar to the 4#3b but it is a lot thicker. So I assume it should take more crash. Main blade were made of same materials as the 4#3b and it should be more durable than the 4G6’s foam main blade. The only thing I don’t like about the 4#6 so far is the canopy…. I think the 4g6 look a lot better but it is just a personal thing.

First flight:
I am very impress on how stable the tail is! The 4g6 is very good already but this one I do not even experience any tail drift for the complete pack. Rock solid and quick tail movement as well. It fly very similar to the 4g6 as it is base on the same design. The only thing I notice is it seems to be a little slower to the throttle input. It is not too bad but it is noticeable compare to the 4G6 and should cause by the fix pitch design. And it is much bigger than the 4#3b so it is very stable even in light wind.

Conclusion:
Normally smaller helicopter should be better for indoor flight in small space, but the 4#6 is so controllable it give you confident to fly in smaller space then you would normally do. Walkera are getting better and better with micro helicopter. I really can’t think of anything bad regarding it. The only thing I can think of is it can’t 3d. But I mean if you wants to do 3D you will get the 4G6 anyway. But the 4#6 is upgradeable so you can update later if necessary

Pro: One of the most stable micro heli in the market
HH gyro
New 600mah batter
Shaft driven tail
Simple design easy to work with
Brushless motor
Con: none…. If I must say something it can’t 3D…

Collective is a little quicker than cb100, the rudder is more stable than the cb100. Due to the shaft driven tail with variable pitch the gyro can correct the tail a lot quicker than 2 motors setup.
