Default IR Tank Battle at The American Military Museum in S. El Monte CA on June 6, 2015

Attention to all Southern California IR tankers.

The American Military Museum is proud to host the 2nd Annual Super Summer Tank Fest.

Who: Anyone with a 1/16 radio control (R/C) tank is welcome.

What: Battle events require 1/16 scale R/C tanks that are infra-red (IR) equipped to battle other IR tanks. Battles use the Tamiya IR system as a standard (each tank's IR equipment must take and receive hits from a Tamiya battle system (brand is irrelevant). There will also be events for non IR tanks, and Heng Long IR system tanks. At LA Tank, we run what's brung!

When: Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 10:30 am. Pit area opens for setup at 9:30 am, battling starts at 10:30:am and lasts until around 3:00 pm.

Where: The American Military Museum located at 1918 N. Rosemead Blvd, So. El Monte CA 91733 626-442-1776. Park & Meet at the South Gate Entrance. The museum has an on-site restroom and sells cold drinks. LA Tank is the resident RC tank club with monthly meets/battles at the museum.

Cost: $10 per tanker, and all proceeds go to the museum. Admission to museum's artifact collection and lunch are included. Lunch menu is grilled hot dogs and hamburgers (served by the museum) along with various potluck style side dishes, drinks and desserts.

What to bring: Bring your tanks and plan to stay all day. The museum will provide chairs and tables, but have a limited supply which usually go quick. I recommend that you bring enough lawn/beach chairs for you and your guests, a pop-up for shade, and portable tables to use for your tank parking/pit area. The day will be 4-5 hours of running tanks non-stop. A basic tool kit, extra batteries, and a battery charger are recommended.

Last year's Super Summer Tank Fest was very successful, and we had more than 50 attendees. There were so many tanks and drivers (over 30), that the battles were run platoon style to accommodate all of the tanks. This year promises to be even bigger and better. There are lots of battlefield improvements, a new battlefield layout and what's looks to be more attendees than ever.

Consider yourself, your family, and friends to be invited. We hope you'll join us by celebrating D-Day in a very special way at the American Military Museum playing with R/C tanks.

Questions? Call the Tank Museum at their number above, or email me.
