Default New here hoping for help.

Hi everyone I am Gio from Canada Im trying to get into the IR tank hobby and am hoping someone can help me work out my first tank. Im hoping to get either a panther or jagdpanther.
I have looked at Taigen and Torro. They look very similar and dont know what the true diffrences are and iI have read some thing about the Taigen arent able to IR battle anything but its own company?
Also i am looking at getting the metal version figure spend alittle more and make it last longer, save some extra time adding in the new gears and the like. I have a budget around 650$ cad.
If anyone can help with some insight it would be very much appriciated.

Hi,

You will gain more solution comments under “normal threads”, repost there. Torro is the manufacturer and Taigen USA is an online retailer with excellent service support. To make a Torro RC IR tank infrared battle game compatible with other IR tank types, like Tamiya’s, you’ll need to replace your electronics package and add a hobby grade 4 channel radio and a battle unit system.

Going that route plus adding various performance upgrades can get expensive real fast. The basic cost of the Torro RC IR tank is just the beginning of your project cost. Your basically ending up junking almost all the Torro electronics to achieve infrared battle game compatibility.

So, repost your questions in the main forum and perhaps someone will post a budget IR build approach for conerveting a Torro Panther or Jagdpanther to a “IR compatable fighter”.

John
