sprocket fitting
Could someone help in fitting a set of Tamiya sprockets with T-84 track to my HL M-26A1? Someone had offered by some of my messages got deleted. Would also need some electronics checkup. Will pay gladly for any work done.

RE: sprocket fitting
Disregard the call for help on the sprockets. I did some Dremmel work cutting away the second flat portion and they are on pretty well. This is my first experience with metal tracks. I have a new set of Impact T-84 tracks and they seem to be very tight but seem to want to buckle coming over the sprocket moving forward. On a real Pershing, I would tighten the adjustment, but...
Do they need a good amount of running to "run in" or would WD-40 help??? Appreciate any advise. Bill |
RE: sprocket fitting
Hi Bill, glad you got them to fit. I would imaging like the Mato metal tracks that they'll loosen up after a bit of run time. One of my Tigers got so sloppy that I pulled a link out of each side and they're sagging again! T-84, isn't that the rubber block track? I'm waiting for the WW2 tracks!

RE: sprocket fitting
Thanks, yes, that's the rubber chevron double pin, and the detailing is really great. I get the feel that the track is too loose, so I may have to remove a link and see what happens. I have a set of single pin ordered for my Super Pershing, to make it totally correct.
I haveconverted this to an M-26A1 and aiming at late or post Korean war era. Both tracks were in Korea. Bill |
