My MP40 machine pistol

Thought you guys might like to see my German MP40 machine pistol replica. Its all metal, fullauto and very heavy! Just like the real one. Fires .20 plastic airsoft BB's at around 600 rpm and 250 fps. I got it from evike.com. Way to much fun!! The magazine holds about 50 rounds. Takes a 7.2 battery. The folding stock works and it field strips like the original.
A little over $100.00 9 out of 10 German tank crewmen say that its the perfect thing to protect your HL Tiger from those pesky Russkies and their Molotov Cocktails! :D Attachment 2239482 Attachment 2239483 Attachment 2239484 Attachment 2239485 |
RE: My MP40 machine pistol
Forgot to mention AGM put a selector lever on the left side. The real MP40 was fullauto only. I looked inside and its an easy fix. Set it to fullauto and remove the lever then fill the hole. The faux bakelite grips need a repaint too. They weren't black. The real ones are a kind of mottled dark brown.

RE: My MP40 machine pistol
I'm also into re-enacting as well as rc tanks. I belong to the 260.Mar.Art.Abt a coastal artillery unit. I portray a WW1 navy vet recalled as a signaler with the Kriegsmarine Küstenabteilung.
Here are pics of an MGC68 MP40 non-gun(replica) I purchased way back in 1974 for the wopping price of $84.00cdn. It is a metal one. Over the years it saw alot of abuse since I had let my kids play with it. They lost the magazine, broke the plastic forstock and pistol grips off it. Well I dug it out again about a year ago and thought I would restore it to it's former glory. Here are pics before the restoration: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y18...st/mp40-01.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y18...st/mp40-02.jpg Here are pics of the dummy magazine I made for it before and after painting: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y18...t/100_6373.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y18...t/100_6376.jpg And finally her are pics after re-blueing, replaceing the broken plastic forestock and pistol grips: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y18...st/mp40-09.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y18...st/mp40-10.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y18...st/mp40-11.jpg I still need to find a missing piece that allowed it to fire the plug-fire cartridges, plus I need a working magazine |

Something new to talk about[sm=thumbup.gif]
This is no replica, I receive this from the Dept. of the Army for $ 120.00 about 25 years ago for competing at a DCM shoot, This M1 Garand was use in the Korean War. |
RE: My MP40 machine pistol
I remember those PZRWEST. Made by Marushin of Japan. Your's looks like an original WWII relic!! The ammo and a new mag might be hard to find. Keep checking Ebay. You could aways make a real MP40 mag fit. There are still plenty available. Check the Shotgun News magazine, Ohio Ordnance ,SARCO or International Military Antiques website.
The airsoft is actualy my 3rd MP40. I had an all metal non-firing replica from Japan but it didnt take the plug fire rounds. Several years later I bought another MP40 as a parts set minus the receiver and installed an 80% machined receiver. I had to cut out the magwell, cocking slot and sear hole. This took the receiver over 80% and made it illegal. I ended up selling it to a gun shop. I also had the MG42, MG34, Vickers, DPM, Sten Mk II, MkV, Sterling, (still have one converted to a Star Wars blaster) Brengun, Browning .30, Thompson 1928, PPsh41, PPs43, VZ25, the list goes on. I was big into collecting demilled weapons for a while. I even had a 3.5 bazooka! Demilled of course. Sadly I needed some quick cash a few years back and sold them all. |
RE: My MP40 machine pistol
I know sanfransisco stores sell airsoft ww2 guns, but they make hl's bb unit look tamiya quality..

RE: My MP40 machine pistol
MGC and Marushin are two separate companies MGC stands for Model Gun Company or Corporation. The problem with getting a replacement magazine is our replica regulations here in Canada. Technically replicas are prohibited weapons but due to the fact I purchased it prior to Dec1, 1998 I can legally keep it. I can't sell it, lend it, or give it away. If I no longer want it I must destroy it or turn it into the police for destruction. As for magazines all magazines here must be permanently pinned so only a certain number of rounds may be inserted uless you have an extend capacity permitt

RE: My MP40 machine pistol
Nice MP40, even the allied tankers wanted these for tank defence and status. I went to that evik site, some nice stuff including this Vulcan, i want to mount this on my pickup :)

RE: My MP40 machine pistol
This is a great thread! I've been eyeing an M3A1 "Grease Gun" for my tankers! Either the replica cap gun or airsoft, decisions, decisions...
Used to have an MGC 1911 when I was a kid, it took a beating and fell apart as it was plastic back then. Hdbeast: Nice M1! I still kick myself for not getting an original WW2 model some years ago! But the M700 I bought instead has been a beauty! Shoulda bought them both and got by with Ramen Noodles! pzrwest: Hearing stories like yours with such ridiculous restrictions on your rights makes me appreciate and love my country even more! |

RE: My MP40 machine pistol
My guns dont shoot small plastic things :D
SKS and Mauser 98K http://static.petrisimolin.com/galle...nkkari-pum.jpg |
RE: My MP40 machine pistol
Looks like you need a blade bayonet for that SKS, or a stock made for a spike. What's that on the end of the barrel? Mine don't have that.

RE: My MP40 machine pistol
It is this
http://www.midwaysuomi.com/apps/epro...eItemID=315814 And yes, the stock is german made stock the orginal chinese was broken |
RE: My MP40 machine pistol
Looks like a twist on flash hider on that SKS but it looks like its plugged with something brass or gold colored. Whats the brass thing on the end of the barrel of the Mauser and why is the barrel bent upwards?
|
RE: My MP40 machine pistol
Nice SKS and Mauser
I have a SKS also and love the way they shoot, it has a SN#2001 I think that kind of cool:D |
RE: My MP40 machine pistol
It is muzzle cover, and no, the barrel is not bent.

RE: My MP40 machine pistol
Well a molotov cocktail dropped into a hatch will set off the rounds inside the tank, a couple molotov's into the engine compartment will set it afire and cause the fuel to explode. Are you going to stay inside a tank that is on fire? You want to take the chance that it doesn't explode? You would bail out and then be cut down by small arms fire
|
RE: My MP40 machine pistol
true, forgot that they could be thrown into a hatch
if its on the outside though, i think id rather stay in the tank then |
RE: My MP40 machine pistol
Update: I stripped the paint off and airbrushed it in a mixture of Model Master gloss black, blue and jet exhaust. Not the most durable paint but its OK if the paint chips off because I want the "been there" look. After painting it I rubbed it down with some Rub and Buff silver to highlight it and give it some wear. I repainted the forearm and grips with Fusion Espresso plastic spray paint and dabbed on black paint with a crumpled paper to give it the Bakelite look and sealed it with semi-flat. I removed the selector switch and the internals for it and filled the hole. Its strictly fullauto now. Under the pistol grip frame was an on/off switch. I removed it resoldered the wires and filled the holes .
