No two HL's are ever the same!
 
It's funny, I got 5 HL tigers and all of them seem a bit different all the time. One is fast, other slow, one turn hard to the right and the other slow. One shots 15 feet and the other 2 feet. One tiger on a test shot, blew a hole in the drywall? It would be nice if things were consistant. I am now filtering out the ones that perform the best and will use them for BB battles.

Do you break your tanks gears in? It might help with speed.

Yes, the tolerances in a non-broken-in metal gearbox can vary greatly, also things like bent motor mount etc cause un-needed friction.

On my Pershing I put both tracks side by side, and one was 5 mm longer than the other. When mounting them you could feel the difference in track tension. That could also be a cause for a tank slowly turning right or left while running.
I will rearrange the track sections until I'll have the same lenght for both.
