Default Weatronic and long servo leads

Just finishing a 4 servo wing glider and wondered if Weatronic needs the iron rings to wind the long servo leads through (chokes?).

I´m using a Micro 12 in my 1:3 scale Super Cub, and I´m only using twisted wire for the servos in the wings. So far no problems, even though the wires are quite long.

It was more of a problem in the MHz days as the long servo leads were a good length for a MHz aerial, allowing the rf to feed back into the power supply and perhaps cause problems in the rx. Servo leads are not a good length for a GHz aerial so it tends to be less of a problem and the choke is not needed.

However, some people with spark ignition engines quickly found that they got interference with 2.4GHz! How can this be since we are told that sparks don't radiate as high as 2.4GHz? The problem was often traced to the long servo leads picking up the spark rf and feeding it to the servo, and a choke at the servo end of the lead rather than the rx end, cured the problem. The root of the problem though tended to be poor or broken shielding on the spark plug's HT lead.

Thanks to both of you for your information. I will go without the chokes and ensure my range check is OK.
