Can I mix battery types?
Hi Gerhard
Let's say I wan to use a big sub-c size NIMH battery a the master, but only want to use a lip as the backup. Can it be done?
Since I can only specify one type in the configuration, which one is the less of a risk? What are the downsides?
Regards,
Edgar

RE: Can I mix battery types?
Hi Edgar,
Sorry for the delayed answer. We don't recommend it, but you can use different types of batteries. We recommend making the choice of LIPO in the basic settings page.
The switching will then happen at 6.0 V and with that it will retain some capacity in the NIMH and switch back from the LIPO when it is empty. By that time you should have landed anyways. It won't utilize the NIMH fully, but that is the safer compromise to go with.
You can tell how much capacity is left when you discharge your NIMH to the switching voltage, and then recharge it. The amount of recharged capacity is what you will have available. If that is not enough, you can still switch to the 5.7 V, but then you are risking emptying the LIPO too much if you don't land ASAP.
I hope I have given you the needed information to make your choices..
Thanks,
Gerhard
