First Gas Plane 30cc?
I am ready to get into gas planes. Is the 30cc Yak a good first plane? I have had some people tell me that 30cc planes are very tweekie and I should start with 50cc. Is this true or are the 30cc planes easy to fly? Any help is welcomed I have heard good things about Wild Hare and your customer service.
thanks.
thanks.

RE: First Gas Plane 30cc?
I am not an expert but I have flown a few airplanes in this class including the WH 30% (50cc) Edge as well as the Baby Edge(30cc). Of course the 50cc airplane flies better... bigger planes are simply easier to see, less wind affected and just generally fly better. Having said that, there is nothing about the 30cc Edge that is hard to fly/balance/land etc... It is a nice flying plane for it's size and capable of performing reasonably smooth aerobatics as well as 3D. Will it compete with a 50cc plane if both are set up ideally? I'd say no... smaller planes just can't go head to head with significantly larger planes all else being equal. As far as ease of flying... that is more in the setup for any plane than in the size of the plane. Setup anywhere close to the recommended manner, I would expect the airplane to fly in a very docile and easy to fly manner if you have ANY experience with an aerobat. If in doubt error on the side of a little more forward weight for your first few flights and I'll bet you will have great success with the 30cc WH models. Good luck.

The 30cc YAK is an excellent basic aerobatic trainer. As long as you can fly at all I would not hesitate to say go forward flying the Yak. Just be sure to have low rates set up. You can do dual rates if you like, but be sure you have one that is set very soft, just in case. There is much more danger of over controlling than off not having enough control, so have a fallback with very little control movement and you will be fine.
No, it's not "tweekie", it's solid as a rock.
