RE: 1.20 Glow Edge
OK guys, I finally received the first production plane and have assembled it up to the point where I could take pictures.
First, it's a very nice airplane, easy to work on and assemble. It's light, the plane as shown in the photos weighs 6.6 pounds on our digital shipping scale. This is everything out of the box, hinges glued in, cowl bolted on, HD axles and wheel pants installed, etc. If you add everything up to make it flyable with a 2 pound engine (most of the 1.20 size are right in there as is the Saito 1.80 which would be a beast) it will come in right at 11 pounds.
If any of you guys have flown an 11 pound airplane with a Saito 1.80 or a Thunder Tiger 1.20 2 stroke, or even the OS 1.60, you know this plane will be way overpowered and should be capable of rocketing out of a hover.
Here are the specs.
Wingspan 73" We may boost this to 75" to make it exactly 25% scale).
Length 63 1/2" from the rudder tip to the front of the cowl, figure 67" with a 3" spinner.
Weight 11 pounds +/- 1/2 pound
Wing area 1040 sq. inches.
Wing loading at 11 lbs 24.4 oz. per sq. ft.
Wing loading at 13 pounds 28.8 oz.
So as you can see even if you load it down with too many batteries and a smoke system it will be very lightly loaded.
And it's still a BIG BOY plane, with wing and stab tubes, full length hatch, motor box that engages the wing tube, balsa sheeted foam wings, airfoiled tail surfaces, etc. It's built just like the 28% Edge, just smaller and lighter.

Yes a 24 oz. tank will fit.
I used, if I remember correctly, Hitec 5645s, but that was overkill. I'm thinking the new 6635 digitals with Karbonite gears will be a good match. I used a 133 oz. servo on the rudder and it had incredible authority.
The 6635s are only $42 here.

Same as any other plane we sell, order it and give us a credit card so that we can ship it when it's here. We do not charge until it's ready to ship, but in order to reserve a plane for anyone we have to be sure that we don't have to hunt you down to get money.

RE: 1.20 Glow Edge
In response to the 1.2 Moki, I can assure you that it will be VERY over powered. The reason I know this is because one showed up on my door step today. A new post titled "1.20 Edge Review" will be started tonight here in the forum. It won'rt be completed for a bit because I'm in the middle of another project and i will be gettting some assistance on this one.
