RE: DLE-30 and the new baby planes
wow I think I have a hard decision to make.I let my seagull extra go as its a wee bit to heavy for extreme aerobatics .heavy at almost 13 pounds. and I was looking at the aeroworks quickbuild 120 which with a new dle30 is like awesome but these baby edges just might be a hare better.I'm not a fanof metal landing gear so I am thinking carbon fiber .good price for the plane .
just wish there was video .is there ??

Actually I am sending a small batch to a company called The Hobby Shed, they should be leaving the builder in about 2-3 weeks.
If you want to get one I suggest that you email them at [email protected]. IF they don't already have what you want coming then you can have them add it to their order.

RE: DLE-30 and the new baby planes
the new baby extra looks like the best way to go with a new DLE30 what do you think the flying weight will be?? I am undecided about whether or not to go with a side mount carb or a rear intake.unfortnuately I read all the blogs about the dle and some hate the side mount and others swear by the rear one.

RE: DLE-30 and the new baby planes
Weight with DLE-30 is exactly 10 lbs, actually mine was 9 lbs. 14 oz.
A DLE-30 can handle 12 lbs. easily in 3D.
I have been using the side mount version and i have not had any trouble with mine. I do have the rear carb conversion kits but have not felt the need to install one for either of my 2 DLE-30s. I also find that the side carb version is easier to set up and work on so I like it.
I'm sure the rear carb also runs well but I haven't had enough need for it to justify the work of changing the planes over. Maybe on my next 30cc plane I'll try it.

tom, one question, the dle v2 has rear carb, so the baby extra or edge need to modify the firewall(make a hole) to fit the rear carb there?.

All,
The new DLE 30 Rear Carb from Wildhare installed on a 16lb Graupner Taxi 2400. Pulls this plane straight up at 1/2 throttle.
