While there is a great deal of ego gratification in producing a big ARF like that, there isn't much money in it.

The market for planes that will cost over $3,000 finished is very small, and the cost of developing planes that size is high. Our Extra 330LX is a great plane but I think that will be the last really big one for a while.

BME is supposed to be producing a 78" Ultimate. Goldberg has one at 70.5". Aeroworks and H9 have them for 150CC. How many Ultimates can the world need?

We are working on a bipe, exact size and design still to be determined. I'll announce it when I'm sure I can deliver it.

Thanks for your support, sorry I can't do what everyone wants.

Hopefully it will be a 50cc size plane and NOT a Christian Eagle, Pitts or Giant Aeromaster.

When will you be taking orders on the 28% Extra
We are accepting orders now.

There will be two versions. The Extra 300 Special is a derivative of our Edge, using the same fuselage with Extra style wings, cowl and landing gear. I've flown this plane and it's a gem, one of the nicest flying planes I've ever had. It looks like the original Extra except it's thinner and sleeker, a bit of artistic license with the scale idea.

There will also be an Extra 330LX, a reduced size version of our 35% Extra. I just received the prototype of this plane and it looks great. The fuse is an inch or so wider than the 300 Special, with a nice wide cowl. It should be a very nice plane also, and very close to exact scale.

The pricing on the Extras will remain the same as the Edge, $399, for pre-orders. I don't know if we will raise the prices or not once th e planes are in. I appreciate everyone's trusting that we will deliver a quality product and I want to keep encouraging folks to order ahead, it's so much simpler for us to ship from a backlog list and it keeps our costs down.

I want to correct this. We have had two prototype Extra 300L models. The one described above is very much exact scale, the other has a narrower body and is based on the Edge fuselage. We will be using the latter plane, the one which is derived from the Edge. This design is thoroughly shaken down and tested.

I should have pictures of this plane in a few days.

RE: Manufacturing Question???

Thanks for the response.
I don't have an spare engine and if I get another engine, I want it to be a 80-100cc twin. While some of the newer engines may be light enough, it will be too much power. I will decided what to do in January. Thanks for the service you have provided.
