how hard is it to get your edge 540T covered in yellow ultracote?

It's not hard to do when they are being built. I am getting 2 in the next container, but they are both sold. Next batch would be late Sept. You can order whatever you want in that batch.
As long as you tell me before they cover the last one I can get what you want.

How far down the road do you expect it to be before you are able to maintain an inventory of planes so there is no big waiting list for one??? Just curious.

i forgot to ask you yesterday what the cowl is painted with. is it painted with that ultracote paint, something compatible with that, or something else?

All paint is done with two part automotive type paint, I do not know the exact type.

ok, you may not know the answer to this and if you don't that's fine. i could tape off the areas of the cowling that i wanted to paint, wet sand them, and as long as i primed it use ultracote paint couldn't i? if push comes to shove, i could always use a scrap piece of cowling from cutting it out for the engine to try this.

i'm trying to find out from other people what they did to their cowls paint wise. if you can, i would contact the builders and ask them. however, should i not get any responses, i'll take my chances and if i mess up the cowl i can always order an unpainted from you later. how much would another cowl, unpainted, cost?

Ben,

You can add any color you want, just do it as you described above.
If you are really energetic, you can wet sand the whole cowl to remove all the paint.
When you paint it, regardless of which method you use. Prime it with white primer otherwise the ultracote colors won't match.

Do not use any type of paint remover. Some of it softens fiberglass.
