servo arms?
 

Which servo arms are good (don't need the best) and what length should I get for 3d throws (building extra 300 lx). I plan on using the hitec 5645's on surfaces (5955 on Rudder).

Will the hitec supplied arm be long enough (aluminum)?

Are the dubro's new line any good?

Do Futaba aluminium arms fit on Hitecs ?

If anyone could clarify this confusing topic for me

Futaba arms wont work on Hitec servos, Splines are different. the aluminum arms that come with the hi end Hitec servos should work ok with clevises at less then max throes. There too short. For ball links and max throes, use the good stuff, if for no other reason than piece of mind! At least thats my theory.:D

Use the SWB or Air Wild MLP arms. Get the 1.5" arms for 3D throws.
I used the MLP arms in my 28%WH and they are very good with the 4-40 ball links.

11/4" SWB double lock arms 4-40 threaded holes and ball links. You will be happy

That is what I just finished installing tonight.
1.25" SWB double lock arms.

I've heard that the torque measurments from the servo manufactorers are measured with 1 inch arms. If you go past 1 inch, you decrease the amount of force that the servo can apply because torque=force x lever arm. Solving for force, you get f = T/L. Decreasing lever arm increases force. Something to consider when going to a longer arm.... Same goes for increasing throw by going closer to the hinge line on the surface. Decrease lever arm and increase the force needed to provide rotation.....
