Prop drilling..
this might have been asked many times but,
as we folks all know, it's always easier to ask first than do a little but troublesome search[>:] while drilling a prop without a drill guide, i totally screwed it up and i had to enlarge every hole pretty much. perhaps more than 1/8". is this still safe to use that prop or... do i have to sell that to a friend of mine at the half of the value who needs something to decorate his living room? |
RE: Prop drilling..
I myself would scrap the prop. Without a jig I place the prop on the engine, then I spray just a little spray adhisive on the prop washer and slide into placeon the prop. Pull the prop off and drill with a drill press. The spray adhisive will hold the waher in place while drilling but can easily be removed when finished.

RE: Prop drilling..
Go to the hardware store and buy a 10mm bolt about 2" long plus a nut and 2 washers.
Bolt the prop washer to the back of the prop and drill with a drill press. If your old prop is really 1/8" oversize I'd scrap it. TF |
