28% Edge Wing problem
1 Attachment(s)
I got this one used the other day. I have it all ready to go except I have one more problem to correct. I have another thread running somewhere, but figured this might be more appropriate here.
The wings on my Edge don't sit flush against the fuse. They are firmly bolted, and cotter pins on the rear dowels. They just dont quite make it there. Any suggestions? First pic is the right wing LE, 2nd is the left wing TE |
RE: 28% Edge Wing problem
after I typed the above post, I think I thought of the problem. If the wing tube is bent, or if the slot where the wing tube goes through the fuse is misaligned, then this would cause this problem. the right le being out, and the left te being out supports this. sort of like this / The previous owner did tell me that the only mishap with this plane was when he picked up the tx while it was running and hit the throttle. The right wing hit a flight station, but was repaired.

RE: 28% Edge Wing problem
Sounds like a bent wing tube. I would also check to see that the fuse sides are not compresed at the rear edge of the wing and that the formers are still intact near the rear of the cockpit area. I did something sort of similar to my new extra and bent the wing tube. When it bent it did push in one side where the trailing edge of the wing meets the fuse. Easy fix -- carbon wing tube from Tom and a little TLC. Plane has another 50-60 flights since then.
