Ok fellow bunny fliers heres the story
Bout a week ago i came into the market for a 35% plane which of course was gonna be the 35%extra and get this the wife didnt have any problem a very rare instance for us modelers she said on one condition that i could get it and that was if i get the white and blue well me wanting the yellow and blue of course we had to gripe at each other which looked better finally we compromised on the red and white well today i call tom to order and order the yellow one :D:D and she found out[:'(], calls tom right back and says no we agreed on red one so tom being the patient man he is has no problem anyway long story short I TALKED HER INTO YELLOW lol now i just gotta take her to a fancy dinner [:@] well worth the color i want hehe sorry to change on you again tom were sticking with the yellow just let me know that its ok with you and i dont have to take you with us lol :D:D hows that for a smooth talker hehe

so my other question is....Is this spektrum technology tried and true more reliable then 72mhz? and i was reading in another post the planes are now coming with wingbags????

Yes they have wingbags, at least on the foam wings. I don't remember if the built-up wings are in bags.

I think the Spektrum stuff is the best thing to happen to R/C since R/C. It's reliable, not real expensive, and is well thought out.

I like the fact that one can verify the integrity of the link with the data logger, no more wondering if the radio is on the edge of failure.

It's for real, I move to the x9303 after the DX7 and will not use anything else.

well if you vouch for it, it must be good i heard about it glitching with power systems and other rumors i was planning on using smart flys powerbox pro that is my concern

You will hear a lot of propaganda about batteries and power boxes. Guys have their own opinions, but almost none of them are based on anything other than other people's opinions.

I have done a lot of real world research. While power boxes don't seem to do any harm, at the 35% size they dont do any real good either.

For someone who is on a budget a power box is unnecessary. There are several ways to hook it up, if you want to call me we can talk about it. You can use 1 or 2 receivers, 1 or 2 battery packs, 1 or 2 switches with 1 or 2 outputs. Basically you want at least 2 connectors into the receiver and at least 1 A123 pack and probably 2 good switches. More is better.

If you are planning to use Spektrum/JR, your money is better spent on the new AR9100 receiver which is basically a powerbox integrated with 3 satellite receivers, a very cool deal indeed.

I know you young guys in the military don't have a lot of money to throw around, I want to see you have the best setup for the least money.

who makes that ar1900? i will definitly be calling you bout setup when i get to that point money is good right now and wife has a good job so i am not lookin to skimp on this plane but i dont need top of the line TOC stuff either

The Spektrum ar9100 is @ this addy. Its not labeled a receiver so its a little harder to find. This will be my next few receivers.

The AR9100 lookls great, the only problem is it has been delayed several times. It was originally due in November last year, then December, now maybe February.

Here's hoping, but even an AR7000 will work fine temporarily.

are those deans plugs on there so my understanding of this using my incredible naval aviation electricity knowledge would be battery going to switch then right to reciver power inputs with no regs on the A123 batteries this may very well be the way to go seems very simple

On the AR9100 they are not Deans, they are called EC3. They are round 3.5mm barrel shaped connectors that are commonly used on high current electric motors. They can be purchased from Horizon, or me, or in bulk from MPI. They are very nice connectors and will certainly do the job.

As an update, I spoke with Horizon today and the AR9100 is in stock and shipping, I will have my first ones in a few days. With luck I'll be able to flight test it this weekend.
