Late questions..
Sorry to ask but i have searched high and low for this to no avail..WH V1 (Yes V1..:) )Edge 540T..got one for my son ...what are the surface throws in inches?...also do you box the engine bay off or let hot air waft down the fuze..?.. Regards Dave. |
RE: Late questions..
As per the WH Edge 540 V-1 Manual they are posted in degrees.
HIGH RATE (3D) LOW RATE Ailerons 23 deg. 16 deg. Elevators 40+ deg. 12 deg. Rudder 45 deg. 25 deg. I used a Hitec programer and a Hitec servo throw meter and programed my servos. Then teeked the throw rates in my Transmitter as I saw fit. Hope this answers your questions NEDYOB |

Thanks for that..:)....I'll print it off and laminate it. Have people sheeted off the firewall where the motor box mounts? Those big holes that if left as is would allow hot/dirty air to enter the fuze cavity. |
RE: Late questions..
You could use heat tape to plug the holes, added wood would make it nose heavy. Most of the heat off the engine should exit through the bottom of youe cowel. You might want to reinforce the engine box where it comes together at the fire wall for added straigth with thin CA. saturate the area with thin CA until it won;t soak it up anymore. I also used small triangle stock. Don't get crazy with it because you want to keep your nose weight down.

RE: Late questions..
:)Mine is the latest version...I used clear monokote to seal off my fuse from the engine box. Worked nice and I could still see the motor mount bolts to tell if they were coming loose or not.
Thanks Barry |
RE: Late questions..
I used a piece of real light plywood, maybe 1/16th" covered with Monocoat to cover the opening under the engine box. Just 4 screws hold it in place. Is it air tight? No, but it keeps grass clippings and other crud from getting in. It weighs next to nothing.

RE: Late questions..
Hundreds of these planes have been built with no changes. Yo9u can seal it or not as you like, it will make very llittle difference.

RE: Late questions..
Treadstone:
I have a late answer. I just completed a Wild Hare Extra 300. I covered the open space under the fire wall with light ply and attached it with two small screws. It works fine and is easy to remove for any maintenance. I asked Tom the same question and he said it makes no difference to have it or not. |
