41% Extra

I've got a couple of question about putting one of these together.

What size servo arms 1-1/4 or 1-1/2 Most likely IMAC only no 3D or very little
What size rudder bell crank for pull pull and is it straight or offset and do the cables cross
Will a DA-150 be plenty or should I step up for a 170 (probably going to use Grieves pipes)
Thanks
Bill

Bill,

I'll answer as best I can... have a couple of the planes and love the way they fly.

Probably a 4" arm for the pull-pull works well. I had that originally but recently on both switched and run two servos (JR 8711's) in the tail instead. Pull-Pull wires are setup well straight as opposed to crossed.

I use 1 1/2" arms for the elevators and 1 1/4 for the ailerons. Can get plenty of throw on both... probably 35 degrees or so on the ailerons and 45 degrees on the elevators with this setup and have the control horns about 1" out.

Hope that helps... I'm sure Tom will chime in and give his thoughts as well.

DA 150 should be plently... I'm running a standard 3W 150 with cans and have plently of vertical. If you put a 150 on greeves pipes, should be an absolute monster.

Hey I have a pretty neat design for 2 rudder servo linkage that does not bind and uses just a single channel on the radio. If somebody wants to try it out call me, I'll explain how it works. It requires 2 servo arms and a few ball links, very simple and effective.
