Default YS 140 Sport Idle Problems

I recently purchased this engine NIB and can't get it to idle properly. The engine is mounted inverted and I am using an OS F glow plug. The fuel is Byron 20/20. I was able to adjust the HS needle valve with no problem but when I return to low throttle setting with the igniter attached it slowly looses rpms and quits. According to the instructions this is an indication that it is to rich and when I lean it out it quits. Is the engine defective or is it me.

If you are trying to get a 2000 RPM idle from a NIB engine you are fighting an uphill battle. What is the idle RPM you are seeing and what prop are you using?

Also, they'll idle slower if you use 30% nitro fuel besides being easier to tune.

I can't get it to idle for longer than one minute with the glow igniter attached.

What is the idle RPM you are seeing and what prop are you using. I use 20/20 fuel all the time and only rarely use 30% there is no reason why it can't be tuned on 20%, but you have to give us information to be able to help you.
