Hi Guys
I am having trouble tuning a 110 S.I have read through a good few threads here but the links for tuning don't seem to work.
This is a new engine I bought for a yt Adrenaline but had been put aside for a while. The engine Starts and holds pressure in the tank no problem. I have tried to adjust the Low end needle and also the regulator. So I would like to see a thread which would explain how to set all the settings EG Starting position for high and low end needles and the correct position of the reg. BTW I have only gone 1/8 of a turn either way from the factory setting as it sounded very hard/ pre ignition going from 4000 RPM. Fuel is 20% YS Mix.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers
Steve.

From my experience, although these YS Engines are made to a fine tolerance, each engine will have different settings. I've two YS63FZ, and both have different regulator, low and high needle settings.
With my YS 110 it was a pain to set up when it was new. After finding a setting that was good enough to fly with, I flew / ran a gallon of fuel through the engine before returning to tune in the engine again.
After that, the engine seemed much better to tune.

I ran the YS 110S in a pattern plane. Here are some of things I learned about it
Use a fast turning starter to start it. Use a 4s battery.
Use at least 15% nitro fuel. Over 20 is best.
Turn the regulator screw flush.
Turn the idle screw to where is showing half in the air bleed hole in the throttle valve. More than likely you will have to adjust it learner a little which is turned out or counter clockwise a bit.
Set the high speed needle per the manual, this will be on the rich side. I think mine ended up at 1 and three quarters turns.
