Default 91 FZ low power and compression

I have a 91FZ that I sent to YS service on 7-2-04 to deal with some major problems that prevent the engine from running. When I got it back and it ran I was able to tach it and see that the RPMs weren't near where they should be. The compression I felt when spinning the prop was the same when I got it back as when it went out so I didn't think it was an issue. A 16x6 on 30% was only spinning 8400 and a 15x6 was around 9200 (I don't quite remember). I have only a couple flights on this engine since I got it back and have spent many a day at the feild trying to figure the problem out with the local YS guru (a nat'l heli pilot). He told me that the compression was quite low and that combined with the low power would suggest a bad piston ring. However, since I just had it serviced I hope I don't have to sent it in again!!! I wanted to ask you what you thought because this is my first YS so I'm by no means a pro.

Thanks,

Jared
