Default YS 110

I have a YS110 and will be putting the plane away for the winter. What do I need to do to "winterize" my YS??

Default RE: YS 110

I would say the easy thing to do for your climate...

Drain the tank... Start the engine and run it dry at idle only.

Keep starting it until it will not start anymore....Then remove loop the fuel supply port and the pressure port on the engine together with a short length of fuel tubing..and loops the tank lines together...

Add a very small amount of oil to the engine through the carb opening. You can use the Ultra Oil sold by Dave Shadel at Performance Specialties, or you can use a small amount of Mobile 1 0W-20 all synthetic oil.

You want to use only an all synthetic oil. If it doesn;t say all synthetic oil don't use it!

What this does is burn all the excess fuel out of the regulator so its "dry and clean". Then you are putting a little oil in for the bearings. Too much oil will be a problem so only a couple drops....

remember most after run oils are petroleum based and these are NOT to be used in YS engines.

When you get ready to start it up next Spring...Get same raw fuel in the regulator and it should crank right off.
