I noticed at the WC, QQ was using a 4 blade and CPLR was using 2 blade (and most other 1.70 users that I could see). .
In your opinion, was this personal preference for QQ . . was he wanting to be safe on noise . . or does the Euphoria perform better with the 4 blade?
What are your experiences with a 4 blade Vs 2 blade prop on YS's . .
Thanks,
Jeff

Quique liked the way the 4 blade performed on his Euphoria. Also I know noise was a concern. CPLR and Others had no trouble with nosie with a 2 blade so this is not the full story.
Quqiue used a customized 4 blade prop too. it was not just stock.
My experience with the 3 and 4 blade props is that your thrust line settings will need to change. The models trim will change with the changing of the prop from a 2 blade to a 4 blade.
On my Astral XXc I did not like the 4 blade prop 15.5-12 is was I was trying. However on the Pinnacle and my Supreme before that the 4 blade prop was pretty good once you re-trim the model for the 4 blade.
I like the 17-13 and the 18.1-10 on the 160...The 17-0 can turn the 18.1-10W but its a little bit high of a load. Its just asuch a big club. Also the 18" props will get very noisy if you let the engine run them above 8000rpm The 160 and 170 both will run these props over 8000rpm
I think the 2 blade or 4 blade will work its just a matter of getting the model trimmed and setup for the prop. Prop choice will depend a bunch on the model. My Adventure bipe likes the 17-13

Hi Troy,
I ordered some props from Central and I recieved the 18.1x10W which I ran I my 160 and felt is was too much load. Reading your post I believe there is a another version of the 18.1 x10?. Could you please give me some more info about this prop? (Is it the version with the really big hub?)
Regards,
Peter

No....
APC makes an 18.1-10 and a 18.1-10W, they also make an 18.1-11 and a 18.1-12 now.
The 18.1-10W is a bit too much load in my opinion even on the 170's. I trim mine down a little to about a 17.5" diameter and this helps a bunch.
Be sure to re-balance the prop.
