Default YS63fz vibration

I have found that my 63fz vibrates a lot more compared to a 53.
Both are mounted on similar profile airplanes and the 63 causes the ailerons to bounce/vibrate at idle.

Is this expected or should it be close to the 53 in vibration ?

Lots of things can affect vibration levels...Prop balanced, motor mounts will affect it, and even if its been crashed and maybe the crank is bent.

just checked the crank with a dial gauge and it is indeed slightly/barely bent
only contact this engine ever had was a prop strike a while back in another airplane
I guess the profile fuse doesnt dampen vibrations very well.

apart from a new crankshaft and bearings will anything else be required ?
I've taken apart and changed bearings in a 53 before, anything special with regards to this 63 engine ?

Nothing special with the 63....But bent at all will affect the vibes....

Sometimes it takes that magically perfectly located hit to bend it.

New bearings and a crank will do you up well.
