You have already given some very helpful descriptions of the differences between the YS170 and the YS160 in terms of power/torque and throttle characteristics.
Are there any notable differences between the 170 and the 160 in terms of:
1. Vibation levels
2. Fuel consumption
3. Reliability
4. General handling characteristics (starting, tendency to backfire etc .......)

All of these things are very similar to the 160.
The fuel consumption I think is lower, but this is likely do to the better power lower in the throttle curve. Because the power is better lower on the throttle band, you don't use as much throttle and hence you get better fuel economy.
This past year I could a complete P-07 and complete F-07, on the same 20oz of fuel. This is about 14min of time in the air.
