The problem is the sullivan could split over time. If you have to use the Sullivan tank, I recommend buying the Sullivan metal cap and stopper assembly that they sell, And then wrapping the tank with nylon strapping tape to keep it from expanding under pressure.
Even with the strapping tape they will eventually develop cracks. The tape will extend the life of the plastic tank.

Thanks Troy,
sorry that i didn't asked you in the prevuios message... but is your recomendation valid for the Dubro 16oz as well ?
the manufacturer state "It will not split or crack from vibration or pressure.
Can be used with pressurized fuel systems! "

there is only one shop in israel that sell tetra tanks, and the price is 35$ comparing to the price in central hobbies 12$
Best Regards,
Shlomo

I have no experience with the Dubro tanks so I can't tell you. They may work I just don't know. I have had experience with Hayes, and Sullivan tanks with YS engines. That experience made me choose the Tettra tank many years ago.
After I started using the Tettra I have not experimented with other tanks. So I have no experience with them. I choose the tettra becasue I don't want to cause problems.
My model is more important to me than the extra few bucks for the fuel tank. In my pattern F3A models to have a fuel tnak leak is a near disaster in one of my models. They are all balsa and a tank leak would result in a major issue with an expensive and custom built model. In the scheme of things $20 extra for a tank would not be an issue for my peace of mind. However here in the USA the Tettra tanks are only a few dollars more....not $20

I've used the Du-Bro tanks with much succes on my YS-61 R, not sure if the pressure levels are the same, but I used that tank for over 10 years without problems.
