Disassembling a YS 61-R Long AR

Hi Dave,

My friend has a YS 61-R Long AR that he wants to overhaul and clean. Is there any special care he should take when removing the crankshaft from the crank case? He is concern about damage that may cause to the diaphragm pump that is below the crank; or is it just like any other two strokes?

Thanks.

Clement

It's not necessary but will prevent them from being damaged. If you want to, the crank can be removed without taking the reg and carb off.

Also, what is the factory recommended nitro % for this engine? My friend is using 15% and he want to use 20% or even higher.

Run any fuel you like. If the engine runs hot or blows plugs, you have too much compression or too much nitro.
