YS 45 2-stroke. ...HELLLPP

I have a YS 45 and the engine has always given me problems...

It has always been HARD to start....and if I idle for more than a few seconds..she dies as soon as I try to advance the throttle.

3 weeks ago..I had it adjusted as good as I could....
High end it Runs!!!...
And I mean it plain out MOVES!!!!

It has to be the hottest 45 I've ever owned!

Well today I went to the field...
I knew I was going to have a problem starting her...heck I always do!

But today there was NO WAY to get it running...

I'm not getting any fuel into the carb at all through the system...

The tank is presssurizing fine...and the check valve is holding with no leaks at all....
there is fuel flowing through the filter...all the way ....

however..there is NO FUEL entering the nipple more towards the Prop....(Intake side)....

Well getting the engine out of the plane is going to be a pain in the BUTT....and I'm going to start later tonight....
SO I need some advice!

If I put some fuel straight in the carb..she fired up fine....then quit since no additional fuel was entering the system...

I'll be back to check this post...later....I'm taking my wife out to dinner for her birthday!

Please..anyone.....HELP!!!!

RE: YS 45 2-stroke. ...HELLLPP

Fixed......
It's running better now than it ever did!!!

started right up as well....!!

Here is what I found....

I unscrewed the 2 allen head bolts that hold the Pump housing and carb on....then gave the pump side a small "Whack" to break the gasket seal.

WHat I saw gave me a good idea where the problem lie.

there are some pretty small passages in the body of housing that need to pass through the main engine block and up to the carb.

the gasket material was not exactly placed and was partially blocking the passages...

Also whatever material was blocking the holes was also swollen and cuttting off 2/3-3/4 of the actual size of the passage....

some careful work with a sharp exacto blade made quick work of that...and I was able to blow any debris out rather than through the passage...

same exact situation up top on the carb side!

I worked slow and got everything cleaned and cleared....

I made sure all the passages...needle seat...plunger, plunger spring...everything was clean, pressure tested the diaphram while I was in there... and re-assembled...

I re mounted and went out to start her up....

3-flips to prime..and I could see the fuel rush right over to the intake nipple.

connected the glow driver..and 1 quick burst from the starter had her running!

I removed the glo-driver and let her get warm.
After I adjusted the high speed needle.....I found that the regulator screw at flush with the housing was a little rich through the transition..so I screwed it in @ 1/8-1/4 turn..and now she HUMMMSSSSS!!!!!

I let her idle...walked away and came back 2-3 miniutes later. threw the thottle wide open and it advanced with only the slightest hint of stumble in the midrange as she cleared her throat!

Cool.....I swore that engine was going to drive me NUTS!
Now all I need is some good weather tomorrow and throw the bird around a bit!

THere has been a scratch built sporter at the field thumbing her nose at me....Time to Kick ButT and take names!!!!

WWHHHHHOOOOOOHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
