WHich 140 to use

Hi Dave,
I became the proud owner of a USA star Pattern ship, which is about 2-3 generations old, but she flies straight and true. The original setup was for a 120AC,which I am having trouble locating, but I see several models of 140's available. Currently, I have no engine, header or pipe

Here are all the variations of 140's I have seen by parusing RCU and other forums
140 Sport
140 L
140 FZ
140 DZ.

I see only the 140 sport and DZ are acutally current, but i was wondering the relative power differences in the 140 L and 140 FZ compared to the DZ. I might also consider the DZ, but the original owner says he thinks the 140 FZ would be equivilent to the old 120 AC, which flew the ship great - any opinions here? - I would obviously get the 140 FZ or L used on RCU, or buy a sport or DZ new or used - any recomendations on pipe and header would also be appreciated

Thanks

Joe Finkelstine

RE: WHich 140 to use

Make it easy on yourself and go with a 140 Sport. More power than the 120 and no special fuel as is needed for the DZ. One should fly your airplane easily and most of the time at 1/2 throttle.
