YS 110

I have recently purchased a YS 110. The engine has been run in acording to YS instructions. However whilst it is ok at idle and full power it makes a very harsh sound in the mid range throttle settings, and has been kicking the prop. Club members have recomended that the regulater may need ajusting. Is this correct and if so what ajustments should I make.
