Rich setting

Hi Dave and Merry Christmas,

Will a rich setting on the Hs needle increase the chance of carbon build up on the exhaust valve?
The engine is working perfect and has plenty of power.

No, just the opposite. The hotter the engine runs (leaner) the more buildup you get. Some fuels are worse than others. If you are having an issue with buildup, try switching fuels.
