YS 110FZ engine repair
 

I have a YS 110FZ I need to send to have repairs made. (bent Crankshaft) Do i just mail it to them or do i need to contact YS Parts and Service before i send it.

You can mail it to them. I suggest making sure it is insured, UPS or Fedex can also track it.

Include a note of what is wrong with the engine, and what you would like done to it. Also include your phone number so they can contact you. Email addresses are not good for contact as they don't do much email.

Just leave a daytime phone number they can contact on.

thanks troy for the advice I sent it UPS today. It made me nervous sending an engine without ever having contacted them before.

ps i read through this forum alot for advice on these engines. keep up the good work.

You can call them next week when they get the engine and they will let you know about how it will be to look it over.


thanks for the kind words. I try to help. Sometimes I can and sometimes not. The internet is not the place to best diagnose an engine problem.

I will call them for sure.

I know the internet isnt the best place to diagnose an engine but it beats sitting on an engine not knowing. especially on YS engines. it seems like there isnt a whole lot of experienced flyers out there that use these engines. finding someone who can help diagnose them is a little easier knowing where someone is to help.

Update:
171.40 to fix the engine. called today I was shocked but obviously the engine had more damage than I knew. It was ready to go after i got them my credit card and address to send it back to. I sent it though UPS and they had the UPS stores address. i guess the guy at UPS didnt put mine on there. Should soon be back on its way to me. I am looking forward to putting it back on a plane. I haven't even flown this yet.

got the engine back yesterday man that was nice. the original parts they replaced in the box with it. engine covered in plastic etc as to not damage anything. can't wait to mount it now and get it running again.

Great news. yes a new crank is expensive when you consider you need new bearings too. Glad they got you setup....enjoy the flying
