RE: Drifting Mini-t
I drove my mini t and out of a whole battery pack trying to drift (half an hour), I got two real drifts, Im sure you could do it with decent radio gear a locked diff and a stronger servo.

RE: Drifting Mini-t
my setup so far is: some tires that i have fabricated, locked diff, fiddled with the rear and front suspension, added weight to help the distribution, and running stock servo, which is now broke lol

Run any reciever from any of your trucks and get a hs-55. Or you can do the servo upgrade and mount a normal size servo into your stock chassis if your intrigued go to www.beatyourtruck.com they do it there to there rocketship mini-t.

RE: Drifting Mini-t
that would be cool, but seeing how the servo will be in wednesday and only be 15.00, i stick with that. i would love to put more money into the mini-t but i just bought a 1/10th onroad drifter, and alot of my money went, and is going towards that..

How come i come here and post a new idea and actually got it to work, and almost everyone is leaving negative comments? i would have thought i would come here and get possitive comments like "wow man thats cool, i cant wait to see the vid up" or "wow way to go out on a limb and try somthing new" but everyone is so "omg dude its not possible, it cant be done ect......." all im saying is quit flaming me for trying somthing new....

RE: Drifting Mini-t
we have experience in this sorta stuff. we have been there tryed it and know it won't work. the timing compared to real cars is very veeeery faster and just to quick for our reflexs to catch and hold a drift.

RE: Drifting Mini-t
I believe he could do it. A coulple of days I decided to try it with a xmod. And it worked. I got a bunch of really good circle drifts. If he tries it enough I bet he could get some good drifts going.

RE: Drifting Mini-t
I tried it with a mini-Z and it works.
But I think some of you are missing the point. Yokomo, Tamiya, HPI, all these AWD drift cars are simply turning the pavement into an ice rink. You can throw the car in the direction you turn, and peg the throttle down; so long as the timing is right, it'll get there and get around. You simply can't slack off with a RWD, throttle and steering control must be incredibly fine and quick. This is probably partly why drifting's been popular- if you do it, it's proof that you're a master of car control. You can casually flick an AWD xmod at full throttle around some cones, and it'll look twice as good as the RWD 'drift' clip I posted in another thread. But how much controlling you had to do with that car, you'll have to tell me.
Have you guys ever drifted a real car? If you try the RC AWD drifting technique with one, you're screwed. Apart from the various techniques (weight shift, e-brake, shift lock, etc.) used in real cars - RC cars often just brake or power through - RWD drifting almost perfectly mirrors the 1:1 sport.
So if Rc drifter can keep the rear end of his mini-T out for the entirety of a turn, I'll call it drifting, props to him and keep on truckin'. That's my two cents.
