RE: official mini quake thread
decaur- good advice i bought the ball diffs and the cvds cause i got em pretty cheap. I bought a spare plastic spur and my micro sidewinder/ hyperion 5000 combo is on its way. I bought that battery the other cause was using i forgot his name but its the 7.4v 2s 1650mah lipo and it was like meant for this truck hahahaha. Fits perfectly but I hope I dont over power it but its not a big deal cause it was only 20 bucks shipped.
Im looking forward to running this beast!

RE: official mini quake thread
does anyone know if there is a spur gear that fits and is actually 48 pitch? i tried to use a pinion from my crawling stuff thats 48 pitch and it doesnt line up..... the teeth on the spur are too tall. is it really 48 or am i missing something?

RE: official mini quake thread
Well the MQ is 48p metric (.6 mod) and a standard 48p imperial is (.5 mod). That's why your pinions aren't lining up.
There was a mod a few years ago where a guy took a [link=http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_details.lasso?id=7504&cat_name=]GPM Alloy Spur Kit[/link] and replaced the alloy spur with a rc18t spur gear. The GPM kit comes with a metal plate where you can mount on a standard rc18t spur and use it in your mq (see the link). All you need to do is drill out 5 holes on the rc18t spur and mount it to the plate. Just make sure that it is mounted dead center on the plate.

RE: official mini quake thread
thats funny, i just blew the dust of my MQ as well
here is what im working with
Alum Lower Arms Front and Rear
Alum Upper Arms Front and Rear
Alum Knuckles Front and Rear
Alum CVD's Front and Rear
Alum Shocks
Alumn Ball Diff Front and Rear
Mamba 25
GH4700 BL
Futaba Servo and RX
Heat sink and Cooling Fan
8 Cell IB1400 nimh
im running her on 8 cells ib 1400, i got to figure out what the GH4700 can take, i know the mamba 25 can go up to 12 cells i think, perhaps i can run some more cells
this is how the pack is held in place, it uses the normal location and just some vecro on top for the saddle bag
just some more shots
does any one know of any Sensored BL set up that will work in a MQ?

RE: official mini quake thread
There are quite a few more 380 size motor/brushless ESC combinations then their used to be. I would recommend looking at the Novak Mongoose- 380 size motor and sensored! They even offer it in 8.5, 10.5 and 13.5 turn!

Plops right into the Vendetta so we are good to go!

RE: official mini quake thread
i have a mini quake and it is stock. It seems like everytime i run it it breaks the arms in two. and the turning is crazy it will flip when i turn it in either direction. what should i do to it? and what kind of upgrades should i get to make it faster and more durable.?

RE: official mini quake thread
if you are breaking it every time you run you are doing something wrong... stop trying to jump it over your house!!!
Honestly I have only ever broken one arm, and that was at a skate park on a COOOOLD day...
As for turning, turn down the dual rates on the transmitter..
for faster, go brushless... CC sidewider micro...

RE: official mini quake thread
Got my MQ and Detta out of the cupboard on the weekend. Forgot how many spares and hopups I ordered before it all got put away. Some of it's for my little brothers MQ. Hate to think how much money is sitting on that table
joeyblaze love all the shredded/bald tyres you got there. Good sign of a properly driven MQ.

RE: official mini quake thread
Nah, just showing off. I honestly didn't realise how much I had until I decided to lay it all out. OOPS!
Some of it has already been added to the trucks. I think I stopped using 'em as I was waiting for parts. Can't get much 1/18th stuff at LHS down here. So by the time things started arriving from the US and Asia I had moved on to something else. Oh well.
