Default Prop screw size for 049 Cox?

Ok I could just go home first and then go match the screw, but this will save me a trip. What is the screw thread for the Cox prop screw? I need to go to the LHS this afternoon and it'll save me a hour not to have to go home first.

Thanks,
Duke

Duke,

It'a funny size...5-40. The LHS will be hard pressed to have anything like them on hand I bet! I have to order mine online. If you need a couple I can send you a couple.

Later,
Tim

Thanks Tim,

My LHS keeps two of those big screw sets with 4 or 5 metal drawers which hold a ton of diffeent screws. One set metric and one set US. Thats where I get my small metric stuff for the Norvel, etc engines so I feel its worth a try. They always have 1/2 dozen toa dozen Cox engines in the cabinet so I'll cross my fingers.

Thanks for the quick reply, I need to pick up some 'linen' (or is it antique) coverite, dark green paint, and a few glow plugs anyway, so let me see what they have before I go asking for favors.

Thanks again,
Duke

I think it was Ace R/C who had a couple of 5-40 Allen heads in a package for replacement screws.

5-40 is a common size for R/C car stuff. If the LHS carries those he should have an assortment of 5-40 screwa.

Thanks Lou,

The LHS didn't have any 5-40, but he doesn't have a lot of car stuff. There is a 90% cars shop in town that I never go to (as its all boring cars ) so I'll check there.
