I'm interested in buying Norvel engines (the little .074 seems to be a great one).

I know we can buy them through Norvel web site (Shopatron), but where else do you buy them from ?

Is there any good online store that will ship around the world ?

Hello,

I would like to say a few words about what has just happened to me.
As you've suggested, I ordered my Norvel babies (two .074s) + some accessories from Quantum Models a few weeks ago.
Later, I received (here in France) my parcel and one engine was missing !!!
I then got in touch with them through email and explained the issue. They immediately apologized for the mistake, and sent the missing engine to me at no extra cost.
I received my second .074 a few days ago.
They are great to deal with.

I bought one .074 at my LHS just before Christmas. They gave it to me for less than $50. I then ordered (10) about three weeks later. They took the shopatron price and reduced it by 10%. I believe in supporting the local hobby shop unless their price is outragous but this was better than I had hoped.
I used to use Quantum or the shopatron when the LHS didn't have up-to-date models but I'll frequent it more now.

It depends on the Shop. I buy little my LHS as frankly they couldn't give a crap about 1/2 a goods. If it's not electric, big glow, or has four wheels they don't have it. I offered to buy an .061 and two .074 norvels and they wouldn't order them. I took a plane I finished in( they snap pictures and post) and they looked at it like it was some sort of alien spacecraft. Comments like never seen a gas plane that small ( from a guy that's supposedly been into rc planes for "decades" as he put it) , what kind of engine is that ( um the kind you wouldnt order and sell to me). I still use this LHS for general stuff but don't even bother with the things I know won't be there. That's why I love this fourm and all I'ts helpfull members.

Mhh I've already met that kind of guy.... I buy nothing from them. I prefer ordering from the US, it is moreover generally cheaper.
